Bing Crosby was born Harry Lillis Crosby, Jr (May 3, 1903 – October 14, 1977). in Tacoma, Washington, the fourth of seven children of Catherine Helen “Kate” (Harrigan) and Harry Lowe Crosby, a brewery bookkeeper. He was of English and Irish descent. He died at age 74 playing golf at a course outside Madrid, Spain, after completing a tour of England that had included a sold-out engagement at the London Palladium. Crosby was married twice. His first wife was actress and nightclub singer Dixie Lee to whom he was married from 1930 until her death from ovarian cancer in 1952. Crosby second wife was actress Kathryn Grant, who converted to Catholicism, in 1957, They had three children. Crosby was well known for his song White Christmas.
